Foundation
---
Designed for students who know little or no English, the emphasis is on oral English and reading of basic texts. Successful students will be able to conduct simple conversations and have a knowledge of simple English structures.
Elementary
Here the foundations of the language are expanded and many more everyday situations are introduced. Students will be able to ask simple questions, express their needs and understand basic texts.
Pre-Intermediate
Here we focus on understanding everyday spoken English at normal speed, expressing ideas clearly and reading a variety of common texts. The main structures of the language will be generally used and understood.
Intermediate
At this level, most everyday English conversation at normal speed can be understood, together with reading many texts without the help of a dictionary. Structures and vocabulary which depend on context will be used.
Upper-Intermediate
More subtle distinctions in spoken and written English can be explored, and a sound command of English structure should be obtained. Everyday conversations and common accents will be understood without difficulty.
Advanced
Students learn to discriminate in matters of style, shades of expression and implied meanings. Fluency and accuracy to near-native standard is the objective, plus a wide and specialist vocabulary for a variety of contexts.

We offer varied, flexible and competitively priced courses for students who wish to study for 10-40 weeks. There is a choice between standard (20 lessons per week) and Intensive (30 lessons per week) and students may start their course on a date that is most convenient for them.
Students taking long-term courses are given progress tests every 4 weeks and have regular tutorials with the Director of Studies in order to help them measure the development of their language skills. Help and advice is also given to those wishing to apply to study in British universities and colleges.
Students studying on long term courses may choose from several different specialist options including English for academic purposes, study skills, IELTS preparation, Cambridge exam preparation, business English, legal English and English for travel and tourism. The availability of these courses is dependent on demand.
There is a weekly supplement for long term courses that fall partly or wholly into the high season (mid June to the end of August).
Homestay accomodation is available either for the whole period of the course or for part of it according to the needs of the individual students. Many students choose to stay in a homestay for the first few weeks of their course and then organise their own accommodation in student flats or houses.
We offer special preparation courses for the following examinations:
Cambridge Advanced (CAE) and First Certificate (FCE)
Courses run 3 times per year – January (10 weeks), March (12 weeks) and September (12 weeks). There is an entrance test for those wishing to take the course. Minimum level required is Intermediate. (Please see price list for specific start dates)
IELTS
